Welcome to the Religious Education Program page for St. John's Parish - we offer several different programs:

  • Religious Education- Grades Pre-K through 9, formerly known as CCD, provides religious education for our youth, thus supporting parents with their responsibility of teaching their children the Catholic Faith.

  • Confirmation- Confirmation is most often preceded by a two-year program for young people in Grades 8 and 9. Special preparation is provided for adult confirmation.

  • Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)- (Adult Religious Formation) This is a process of sharing the Catholic faith with anyone who has not made Baptism, First Communion, and/or Confirmation.  The program includes a study of the Trinity, Sacraments, Scripture, Morality, Church and Social Justice along with faith sharing.  The program begins in September and concludes at the Easter Vigil.

  • Family Mass- Planning teams who develop the liturgy geared toward young children on the first Sunday of the month from October through June at the 8AM Mass.

The success of our Religious Education Program relies greatly on family involvement.  The entire community supports the program and we appreciate all that they do for this vital ministry.  Volunteers interested in being Catechetical Instructors should call the Religious Education Office at the number above.  Parents of students that would like to register for the Religious Education Program should also contact the Religious Education Office at the number above.

CATECHETICAL SUNDAY:  Sunday, September 16th.  All catechists, aides, and volunteers are invited to attend the 10AM Mass with their families.  The 2018 theme is Enlisting Witness for Jesus Christ.  Those who serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for this ministry.  Your fellow parishioners will be able to thank you for the wonderful work you do!
